TheHouseHuggers is an historic property company created by Bud and Maura Dingman in 2001.  The Dingmans have 15 downtown apartments in six properties, all located two blocks from downtown Topeka in Historic Holliday Park.  Holliday Park is a National Register of Historic Places District and part of the original townsite of Topeka.  The Shawnee County Historical Society awarded the Dingmans in 2011 for their preservation efforts in the city center.

On land originally owned by Cyrus K. Holliday (created the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad), Holliday Park is one of the city's beloved "downtown neighborhoods."  Boasting The Devon apartment building - home to Cafe Holliday and Salon 808, our great flatiron Holliday Park, and the gateway to the beautiful, nationally acclaimed Topeka High School; Holliday Park is a Topeka Treasure!

We are "preservationists" and by our definition, we reuse, reuse, reuse.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it is our motto, and if it is broke, we fix it!  We believe in the character of our old places, and whenever possible, if we need to replace trim, etc., we try to use something that is at least "sympathetic" to the style and period of the building.  We keep the old finishes whenever possible and we mix in new for convenience and relevance.  That said, our old properties are the perfect home for an eclectic mix of decor, furniture and lifestyles.  We have tenants who use dining rooms as offices, meditation rooms and TV rooms.  A room is a room, is a room...
